I'm Victoria Magnusson, and I am putting on a Benefit Concert- Sunday, July 24th, 2022 to raise $6,000 for my upcoming move to NYC, where I received admission to Manhattan School of Music for the Master of Music Program in Classical Voice. MY STORY-

 

My name is Victoria Magnusson. I'm a military spouse with three children, and thanks to a very special someone (my partner), I went back to college to complete my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance.

 

During my time at Old Dominion University, I performed in various productions, masterclasses, as a soloist in concert setting, participated in two summer programs, and so much more. I could not have asked for a more supportive environment to pursue my passions in music, and now I have an incredible opportunity to further my studies at Manhattan School of Music in NYC this fall.

 

To finish my undergraduate studies, my kids and I have had to live by ourselves since 2019, as my partner received orders out of state. And due to the pandemic, the kids have only seen their father three times in the past two and a half years. This summer was supposed to be a joyous occasion for our family. We were to PCS, be reunited, and I would commute to NYC for school. Sadly, those plans have been delayed for another year.

 

Although we saved money for our initial moving plans and living arrangements, we didn’t anticipate our plans to change so drastically. And now, to pursue my masters, we are attempting to move to one of the most expensive cities in the nation. In an effort to raise funds for our upcoming move, I will be holding a Benefit Concert in person and virtually on Sunday, July 31st, 2022, at 4PM. 

 

ABOUT THE EVENT- 

 

The concert setting will be an intimate space where I can share my testimony, have a wonderful time with you all, and perform incredible repertoire with some very special guests. I will be performing pieces from various productions I’ve been a part of, music that I adore and have helped shape my career. 

 

No gift is too small or too big, and if you have the desire to give, but don't necessarily have the means, your generosity would be just as appreciated by simply sharing this post and my story.
