Hi family, friends, colleagues, and everything in between!

Thank you so much for visiting our page. First, we just wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone that has kept our family in your prayers and reached out during this time. Some of you may know already, our mom, Victoria Strader, was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer a little under a month ago. As I’m sure you can imagine, this is terrifying news to receive, especially for our mother. Due to the seriousness of her condition, she opted for aggressive chemotherapy treatment and is currently on her first round of chemo.

This all started a few months ago when mom went to the hospital for severe chest pains and fatigue. Despite her having gone to the ER several times, the doctors would only have a chest ray completed and originally told us it was pneumonia. Our mom describes the pain as “being stabbed in the center of her heart.” She went on in this excruciating pain for a couple more months until she returned to the ER and refused to leave without a CT scan. When the result came back it revealed that she has stage 4 lung cancer that spread into her sternum. When we asked what the chances are of beating this, the doctor informed us that our focus should be on “how to prolong life”

Considering the newness of her diagnosis we are still trying to wrap our heads around what all this means. This life-threatening illness has impaired our mom’s ability to work and has created financial strain on our family. If you know our mom, then you know sometimes she has a hard time asking for help. With her blessing, we decided to open a GoFundMe to ease some of the burdens on her. We are humbly asking that you donate, share, and provide any support you can give. Monetarily, we have a goal of USD 36,000. The funds raised will be budgeted to cover the cost of 6 months of expenses (housing, medication, utilities, and food). Second to cancer itself, she has expressed that finances are a huge source of stress for her. We are hoping that by alleviating some of this pressure for her, she has a better chance of beating this thing. We understand that everyone’s financial situation is different, so if you cannot donate, we ask that you share this post with your networks. By sharing, we can build a community to let her know that she is not in this alone and that there is a whole world of people that love and care about her!

If we haven’t thanked you enough, thank you again for the grace and support you all are showering us with at this time. It means everything to us.
