VICTORIAN FIRE RELIEF

HEADLINE: FIRST DONATION OF $25,000AUD MADE TO THE OMEO CFA 16/1/2020
The Vic Fire Relief is a collaborative effort by multiple prominent 4WD communities/content creators to raise money for the Gippsland region of Victoria. Being deeply touched by the current state of fire emergency throughout our country, we seek to provide, not only funding but also hands on assistance to those in need. We endeavour to help in every way possible.
There has been a range of goods, feed, machinery, trailers, vehicles and people amongst other resources volunteered. The team is currently working with local communities and agencies to establish points of interest that are in need of funding and physical assistance immediately.
We have already successfully assisted Bayside Relief in their logistical HUB shift from Churchill to Bairnsdale. We are also coordinating Relief Donation Runs with several Businesses and Organizations from Melbourne and surrounding regions.
The funding raised by our campaign is handled directly by our Campaign Organizer, following a process as detailed below:
Points of Interest established
Open communication with local Authoritative bodies and/or Community contacts
Receive and review list of items/amounts and voluntary services required
Team confirmation and acceptance
Release of funds from GoFundMe
Immediate Electronic Transfer of Funds to relative parties
Archive of Documentation (Proof of Transaction / Receipts of Purchases)
Release of Documentation to Public
An example to explain the efficiency of this process is as follows.
Communication was established with the Omeo CFA on 5/1/2020. Our first Monetary donation is being received by the OMEO Fire Brigade on the 16/1/2020. A donation of 25,000 AUD thanks to all of our donors, raised in under a week. We recieved our ‘Permission to Access’ the Omeo region, where we met with the CFA Chief to discuss further transportation and voluntary works to be carried out for the people of the township (11/1/2020), following the donation of funds.
The purpose of choosing to handle funding instead of a direct link deposit to an organization or non-for-profit organization, is to allow for a further and unrestricted immediate reach.
Following the assistance provided to Omeo, we will be working with areas such as Swifts Creek to provide these same services.
Basic voluntary services include but are not restricted to, refencing, assistance in fire prep (breaks, spark proofing, general clean up and removal), transportation of livestock, feed and plant, amongst a vast array of other trade skills.
As the campaign grows, so too does our campaign structure. With the increase of Boots on Ground volunteers and campaign team members, we will establish District Teams whereby a coordinated effort, action is undertaken to ensure we are assisting these townships in need of attention, immediately.
We urge you to get in contact if you feel as though you may be of assistance to our campaign. If you are a skilled trades person, a doctor, veterinarian, carer or have any experience in general labour duties. If you are local to any district that has been severely affected by the fires, and are in need of dire assistance, please contact us.
Rest assured, if our team cannot provide immediate relief or direction you seek, the necessary contacts are called upon to ensure that our communities are not left unheard.
IF YOUR LIFE IS IN IMMEDIATE DANGER, YOU MUST CALL THE EMERGENCY SERVICES (000) AND CONTACT YOUR RELATIVE AUTHORITY IN YOUR AREA AS PER YOUR TOWNS EVACUATION PLAN. PLEASE KEEP UP-TO-DATE WITH VIC EMERGENCY APP AT ALL TIMES.
This GoFundMe is 100% transparent for all to see and understand. We are ALL unpaid voluntary members of this campaign. Some have taken time off work to assist, whilst others assist before/after and on days off. The initiative and purpose of this campaign is to help the world understand,
“When the community unites, we become a strong force for change.”
Thank you for your support,
Love and Gratitude.
