A Hero's Kidney Transplant Fund

Donación protegida
I first heard of PKD when a year before Our Wedding my soon to be husband at that time was addmitted into the hospital for 1 month with bleeding Kidneys and we found out more about his condition. Since then 2011 , I have been relating myself with the disease that my now husband has. At that point his GFR was at 30 so it was something we would have to keep an eye on and make eating healthier choices and also keep his hypertension in check (high blood pressure) the higher the blood pressure the harder his organs have to work especially his kidneys. 2 years ago his numbers dropped into the 20's but not under 25 but Victor has not been feeling well so on one of his regular visits to the doctor his blood test now reveal that his GFR is 18 which is Stage 4 of 5 of Kidney failure which at this point it is a choice between Dialysis or a kidney transplant.

This once vibrant man who has for the past 20 years served New York City as Paramedic and now as a Paramedic Lieutenant, saving lives ,giving his time , kidness and selflessness, putting himself in harms way, and was also a first responder on that frightfull day of September 11, and also saved me from a life in a wheel chair after my car accident. Now needs My help and Our help to live . To be there for his family and his 16 month old daughter Emily.

Victor grew up with out his dad because his dad passed away from a heart attack when he was only 10 years old , So i know how it has affected Victor to grow up with out his dad and the things that I know that he would of wanted his dad there to see and share with him ..... Even thou we know his dad is looking down on us , it is not the same as being there. We do not want Emily to go through the same thing. So I will move mountains, heaven and earth to find a cure for Victor and others living with PKD. But to do all that movement of mountains , heaven and earth , We need donations of your time and money.

Please Join me and Our Team Potito in raising funds and giving time to a Hero who has given so much for this city and to others so they can live , So now in turn he can live and be ther for his daughter Emily and give me the change to grow old with my best friend. I will also be under going test to see if I am a compatible Kidney Donor. So please can you consider giving a little time and money so together Emily , My kids and I can have more time with the one person who has given us the world.

MORE INFO ON PKD BELOW:

Polycystic kidney disease — one of the most common, life-threatening genetic diseases — strikes both adults and children. It often leads to the need for dialysis and a kidney transplant. It affects thousands in America and millions worldwide, who are in urgent need of treatments and a cure.

The Walk for PKD is the PKD Foundation's largest annual fundraising event. Funds raised from Walks across the country make up one third of our annual budget.

The more money our walkers raise, the more we can do in the fight to end PKD!
