Vida Digna Fundraiser
Donation protected
On December 7th in New York City, we launched A Night in Mexico Fundraiser to benefit Vida Digna, a foundation that provides healthcare and education for the children and families of the indigenous Rarámuri communities of the Sierra Tarahumara people who inhabit Chihuahua, Mexico.
Since 1995, the Vida Digna Foundation has worked for the Rarámuri communities of the Sierra Tarahumara in the city of Chihuahua, Mexico, to develop comprehensive education and healthcare programs for children in these communities. Vida Digna strives to continue growing as a high-impact foundation that improves the quality of life and well-being of the Rarámuri communities by implementing a strong educational foundation, adequate access to food, and accessible medical care. Through this event, we aim to raise awareness and funds to benefit this cause.
Indigenous people such as the Raramuri own, occupy, and use a quarter of the world’s surface, as well as safeguard 80% of the world’s remaining biodiversity. Indigenous people help protect our environment, fight climate change, and build resilience to natural disasters, yet their rights are not protected. In Latin America, indigenous people’s access to sanitation and electricity is 15% and 18% lower, respectively, than that of others in the region.
Through this fundraiser, we aimed to not only raise money but to also raise awareness around the challenges we still face today to secure indigenous people’s basic rights and make sure they’re included in the development process, giving them the opportunity to live safer, healthier, and more prosperous lives.
Please help us reach our goal by making your donation today to the Vida Digna Foundation which is based in Mexico. Funds will be directly transferred to the Foundation in Mexico once the campaign is completed and after the fundraiser on December 7th.
