Hello my name is Tristan Trudeau, a close friend of Viet Tran. We are located in Des Moines, Iowa. I’m looking to help raise money to help Viet Trans mom with the cost of court, jail housing and any other fees he would have to pay. He was doing his social duty and is being penalized by the state for his role in the peaceful Black Lives Matter protests in Des Moines, Iowa.
Viet was accused of participating in a televised broadcast supposedly speaking out against the police brutality which led to a multitude of fraudulent charges including the rare charge of dissemination intelligence data in addition to interference with official acts and disorderly conduct.
The television story did not show the name of the person speaking about the document, but Des Moines police spokesman Sgt. Paul Parizek said police “identified” the source as Tran. The reporter who included the bulletin in her story and tweeted photos of the document has not been charged.
His arrest took place in a violent manner in which 20 separate police officers surrounded him guns drawn against his nonviolent and unarmed person. He has since been featured in the New York Post, AP News, WHO 13, Star Tribune and Vietnamese National Television as well as numerous other news organizations.
Anything you can provide is deeply appreciated. Help my brother and friend conquer these unjust charges.
We will get into contact with him and get his bank account info to make sure all the money will be deposited to him.
