Vietnam Super Typhoon Yagi Relief Fund
Donation protected
Roofs ripped from houses, livelihoods washed away due to flooding and landslides, bridges crashing into rivers, trees uprooted and over 120 people have died, with many more missing.
Super typhoon Yagi has devastated Northern Vietnam. The most powerful storm to have hit North Vietnam in 30 years.
Disasters often feel so far away and are just headline news until our family and friends are affected. How provileged we are. If you have family in parts of Vietnam that have been hit by the typhoon, I hope they’re safe and well.
I’ve scoured the internet for fundraisers that will reach smaller villages and provinces in the North of Vietnam. I haven’t had much luck so I’ve decided to set up my own fundraising page to raise money for families in:
1. Cát Bà
2. Quảng Ninh
3. Thái Nguyên
My family and in-laws have family and friends in these areas who we can send the funds to via Remitly. We often send money to our families in Vietnam so this is not new for us.
Funds will be used to buy food, clean drinking water, medicine and any other essentials for families who are recovering from the typhoon. I’ll try my best to send updates via the GoFundMe page when we recive pictures (if any as electricity and wifi is now a luxury).
If you’d like to help Vietnamese families in the aftermath of super typhoon Yagi, please donate and share this far and wide.
Thank you so much LH
(This fundraiser is under my mum’s name as she will be sending money to Vietnam.)
