VILE - Short Film

Hi! We are Thats It! Productions and we are working on a new horror short titled VILE. After making several self-funded and award-winning short films in the past, we are looking to challenge ourselves with new and creative techniques and ideas. We are asking for help to raise money to make this happen!

ABOUT THE PROJECT

A woman becomes fixated on a violin hanging on a neighbor’s wall and is convinced that it is not only playing itself, but calling out to her.

Vile is a short horror film that will have a runtime of about 4-5 minutes. With the story being centered around a violin, we want to focus on telling an eerie story with an emphasis on sound design and music. Some story inspiration for Vile includes Ted Parmlee’s animated adaptation of The Tell-Tale Heart (1953) and Martin Scorsese’s What's a Nice Girl Like You Doing in a Place Like This? (1963).

MEET THE TEAM

Starring - Skye van Zwieten

Skye is an actor who has a love for all things horror. She is trained in both theatre and film acting and has performed in numerous short films, as well as a feature-length film. Skye has received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Film with a minor in Theatre from the University of Central Florida in 2022.

Casey Glazer - Director

Casey graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Film Production in 2022. Casey has experience writing and directing several short films. Some of Casey’s work has been recognized in national student film competitions, with his short film Blitz winning “Best Directing” in February of 2021 and his short film BRAWL! winning the Jury Award in 2022.

Chris Beemer - DP

Chris is an Orlando-based DP that has been shooting for 12 years. In his time working, Chris has been nominated for an Emmy and has won a Telly and Addy award.

Kevin García - Gaffer

Kevin is a cinematographer, filmmaker, and gaffer from Puerto Rico. He loved bringing stories and ideas to life, expressing them visually through the use of cameras and lighting.

Kyle Tesalona - Composer / Sound Designer

Kyle is a sound mixer with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from FSU and a Master’s Degree in Audio Engineering from Berklee College of Music. Kyler composes electronic-based music under the moniker “Kaiolyn”. Kyle has composed music for projects such as the video game “Liminal” which was released in 2018.

Drew Chambers, Owen Walter, and Casey Glazer - Editors

Drew, Owen and Casey have over 20 years of editing experience collectively. They were awarded “Best Editing” in a national student film competition for their work on BRAWL! In 2022.
