Villanova Sigma Chi Takes Down ALS
Donation protected
Sigma Chi at Villanova University is using the week of 4/25 to raise money for battling ALS. Three active brothers in the fraternity who went to high school together were coached in football and wrestling by Randel McCoy (Kenya Garrett), who is currently fighting ALS. They have watched him battle ALS for the past four years, the whole time with contagious energy and a smile on his face. Coach Randel has a fundraiser called “Takedown ALS: Wrestling for Rans”. Due to the overwhelming amount of inspiration Coach Randel has given everyone he has come across, the three have aspirations to raise money for not only him but others combating this disease. With all money gained from generous donations, 50% will go towards Coach Randel’s fundraiser, and the other 50% will be donated to an organization called “I AM ALS”. “I AM ALS” is a patient-led community that provides critical support and resources to those living with ALS, caregivers, and loved ones. We hope for generous donations to a GoFundMe we plan to open on Monday (4/25). We are also holding a fundraising event on Wednesday (4/27) from 12 pm-4 pm at the Oreo. Every $25 we raise at the table, a brother will get an ice-cold bucket of water dumped on them. Thank you!
