Help Vimala with a medical emergency!

Hi this is Vimala and I recently had a medical emergency while uninsured, having just started my new job 2 weeks ago.

I never share much about my personal life on social media but this has been a really rough year for me and I am reaching out to my friends, family, and community for help.

Last weekend I woke up with what I thought might be Covid and was having severe shortness of breath/tightness and pain in my chest that brought me to the emergency room.

I was soon admitted to the hospital for an array of tests that showed I did not have Covid/Flu/Pneumonia/RSV but I do have an upper respiratory infection that exacerbated and uncovered an underlying case of COPD, fluid around my heart and lungs, enlarged cardiac lymph nodes, and severe anemia.

I was in the hospital for 3 days before I could breathe without oxygen assistance and for my blood pressure to stabilize somewhere in a range of "normal" numbers.

During this time the staff helped me apply for emergency Medicaid and filled out paperwork for my very new job where I do not qualify for benefits for another 3 months.

As of right now it looks like a lot of my actual hospital bill and prescription meds should be covered in full but I don't yet know if the doctor's bills and charges for all the scans, labs, and tests will be covered. And there are future appointments in the works as well.

In the meantime I am unable to work until I heal and rebuild my strength but my living expenses (and possible medical bills) will be coming due very soon and I need help so that this medical emergency doesn't threaten to derail my entire life.

It is terrifying to have our breath literally taken from you, and humbling to have to ask for financial help. But here I am, thankful to be breathing, and asking for your help.
