Vince's Chance.. your support means more than ever

Donation protected
Have you ever felt like you were in a nightmare and just could not wake up...well that's exactly how our family felt as we received gut wrenching news that Vince had a tumor present larger than a softball size in his abdomen and the downward spiraling effect of bad news just kept pouring in over the next couple weeks.

Let me start from the beginning.

Over the holidays Vince had  some sharp pains going through his body, he of coursed brushed it off as anyone would thinking that it would go away if given a little time. Well a month went by and he was still feeling those pains. He was laying on the ground stretching and suddenly felt a lump protruding out on his  abdomen. This was not normal and we both knew it. We immediately called the doctor and schedule an appointment to get him a physical, at that time his primary care physician ordered some labs and a CT scan to determine what we were in fact feeling. Labs came in, one specifically jumped out at us that was elevated that corresponded with tumors or infection.. my heart immediately fell as I had my suspicions of what was to come. The day of the CT scan(Feb 1st), we went in and within a matter of mins we were on our way back home.  As we walked in the door we received a call from our doctor and we immediately knew this wasn't going to be the kind of call that would have us celebrating later. He says "it's confirmed you have a large tumor sitting in your abdomen that typically is called Sarcoma based on location." The overwhelming feelings of scream, cry, no, why us, how could this be happening flooded our bodies as no one is ever prepared to hear this news. Hearing the words out of my husbands mouth "I'm going to die, I have cancer, I'm not going to be able to be here for my boys" as the tears poured down his face, broke my heart instantaneously and left me heart throbbing in pain.  I fought the tears and held them back with all my might.  I needed to be the strong one, the quarterback for our family and shower him with positivity and support in order to see the light. We then aggressively began our search for the best sarcoma specialist which landed us in Houston, TX at the MD Anderson Sarcoma Cancer Center which was rated #1 in the U.S.  Vince underwent varies exams, labs, scans, biopsies and tests. We then returned to CO to wait for his results. Getting out just in time before the storm hit TX!  The call we eagerly awaited came on Feb 14th at around 10:30 p.m. only to find out that we were getting steered in another direction as they had found another cancer present at stage III. The waiting in anticipation absolutely killed us. Everyday counted at this point for us. So we began our search again after the storm left TX with no power or water and TX shut down. We felt deeply compelled to keep moving forward as we already knew this was an aggressive cancer and spreading throughout his body. We needed to find the best which lead us to a specialist in IN. He is taking over Vince's case and working with specialist in CO at the Anschutz Cancer Center. Vince had two surgeries last week back to back and handled it like a champ. We wasted no time and started Chemotherapy on Monday.  We have high hopes that Vince's body responds to the intense chemotherapy regimen they have decided on.

We just wanted to take the time to thank EVERYONE for the incredible army of support in our corner. Vince is deeply humbled by the amount of support he has received from everyone! This is what is literally getting him through each and everyday. We appreciate everyone respecting our families privacy as this has been emotionally and mentally difficult to navigate. Feel free to leave a comment, say a prayer and  if you're able to make a donation in any amount to go towards his medical care that would be greatly appreciated; there is no price tag on fighting for your life. We are extremely grateful for any support: pray, like, share or follow his journey as we cherish everyday together!
