Two $4,000 insulin pumps for Britta&Violet!
Donation protected
Hi! I'm Carra Otten. I'm here to raise funds for my friend, Britta Wilson, and her amazing daughter, Violet. Both of which are suffering from Type 1 Diabetes.
Britta has been dealing with a faulty insulin pump for some time now and has had some close calls with her blood sugar as a result. She needs a new pump. To add insult to injury, in the past month, Violet has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as well.
The family is working feverishly to adjust to this new way of life for Violet. Part of this adjustment is the realization that insurance doesn't cover the pumps they are getting. Which are $4000 a piece- $8,000 and that doesn't even cover the cost of the uber expensive insulin! The insulin costs already take up such a large part of the family's income for Britta's treatments, and now with Violets diagnosis, those costs are immediately doubled!
The Wilson's are always more than willing to help others but when it comes to ask for assistance for themselves, they won't do it. They're a proud people, you could say too proud to beg.. I'm not. They need your help.
I learned that Britta is applying for waitressing jobs to make money for the pumps/insulin costs- this on top of all she already does running a full time flower business, freelancing for other florists, raising her family, and helping others. Taking on another job to pay for a substance needed to live is not ok to me. It's also not ok that insurance doesn't cover these costs but here we are. I'm asking for your donations.
With your help, Britta can stay close to her daughter as they together learn to live their lives as normally and as healthy as possible with this awful disease.

If you'd rather donate by keeping Britta busy with her full time job, order some flowers from Iron Violets www.ironviolets.com.
Please and thank you!
