Help Violet & J Escape from Florida

(before I start, there is a tl;dr at the bottom)

Hello! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Violet and I am a trans woman living in Florida. I currently live with my wife, J, and our two cats.

Living as a trans woman in Florida has not always been easy. Access to transgender medical care has been an uphill battle for me throughout my whole transition, and in December 2018, I was the victim of a hate crime that resulted in two broken ribs. This was motivation enough to plan a move, but before my wife and I were able to save enough money, Covid hit.

Since Covid, we have been doing our best to save up for a move, but money has been tight and prices just keep going up. Unfortunately, as more and more news comes out about legislation in Florida aimed at the LGBT population, our wanting to leave the state has become a need. In addition to legislation at the state level, the town in which we reside is also growing increasingly conservative.

With all of this in mind, my wife and I are trying to raise enough money to relocate to a safer state before the situation here in Florida gets any worse. Our current goal is to raise $25,000, which will help cover first, last, and security at the new place in addition to the cost of moving across the country. We are hoping to raise the funds for us to leave by June of this year, so anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated! And thank you for taking the time to read this!
