Help Violet To Have Vital & Life Changing Dental Treatment

Hi everyone,

Violet is an Exotic Persian cat that we unexpectedly gave a home to last week. Her original owner was taken ill, so Violet went to live with relatives who couldn’t keep her and advertised her on social media wanting a new home for her the same day. They said she had recent vet checks for her teeth, but it became apparent straight away that she had an infection somewhere that was causing a very bad smell, drooling and other symptoms to her nose and eyes. Due to the features of her breed, she already has very limited space in her facial area and that is adding to her difficulties, including being unable to keep her tongue in her mouth as there isn’t enough space for it.

We took her to our vet and she was found to have a tooth that has grown sideways, clashing with another tooth and this has caused a nasty infection in her soft palate where debris has stuck behind them. The infection has also caused a swollen lip and gums. She is now needs urgent surgery to remove the affected teeth to prevent the infection spreading further and has already started antibiotics to start to work on this prior to the surgery. She will also need to have her other teeth cleaned and have full x-rays/tests for her respiratory system so that she can move on and live her new life as comfortably and healthily as possible. Violet loves to eat dried food, so saving her remaining teeth is very important to her.

After this procedure is complete, the health of her remaining teeth can be maintained by us with regular brushing.

Her treatment and medication at the first appointment cost £87.78

Her surgery is booked for Thursday 18th July and we have the quote for the amount it will be - £879.87.
