Violette Smith

Hi, my name is Shelby- Abby’s sister. My niece, Violette, has been in and out of the hospital for the past week & the doctors were unable to find out what was wrong with her. On Monday, July 17th, a Thyroglossal Duct Cyst was discovered. The cyst was intruding her airway and they quickly had to intubate her to keep her airway from completely closing. She is currently still on the ventilator and they plan to try to remove the tube tomorrow (July 20th) to see if the swelling of the cyst has gone down. They will at least be in the hospital until Monday (July 24th) and depending how the tube removal goes it could be longer. She will need surgery to remove the cyst as well. Abby has been out of work, and will continue to be out of work, until Violette is healed. Hunter has been in and out of work and is currently staying at the hospital until this is resolved. This is not including the hospital bills they will be expecting.
