Hi !! My name is Shelly Flynn ( Virginia's Cousin) and We are Fundraising for our Beautiful Virginia as she heads down this Cancer Fighting Journey to take some stress off of her with finances so she can focus on getting better!! Here is Virginia's story!!

Virginias cancer fight

No one asks for cancer, that’s the first thing I realized when the Dr told me they suspected the lump in my breast was cancer. I was stunned, tongue tied, eyes wide and staring at the nurse as she’s making me an appointment for a biopsy. I left, on robot mode, sitting in my car. I thought to myself, I need to call my husband, my Mother, they were wanting to know how my appointment went. That was the beginning of December, it wasn’t until the 18th that I was told yes, you have invasive ductal carcinoma. I started to research, I wanted to know why, I was told that question may never be answered. Christmas was a blur, I had my 17 year son and husband to think about, so I pushed my diagnosis to the back burner. December turned to January, I had prepared my myself and my family for surgery, I wrapped my head around the fact I will most likely loose my breast. The surgeon had another thought, Chemotherapy. I shook my head, I didn’t want to hear that at all. I was prepared for surgery, not Chemo! I start my chemo treatments this February, I told the Drs, this is the first time in my working career that I have to use medical leave. I still have not wrapped my head around chemo, I am working on it.

I am grateful for all the love and support that surrounds me during this journey, a journey no one wants to take, but I’m scrappy, I’ve got this!!
