Virtual Concert : "Support India"

250,000.
Last winter, we had a quarter of a million new confirmed cases in a day in the US alone. It was a long and cold winter, as we were kept away from our loved ones to protect one another. Today the weather has finally begun to warm, and we, too, are beginning to cautiously reach out to one another, now fortified with vaccines. But with the fear of last winter still raw in our minds, we cannot turn a blind eye to our family and friends in India who are in the height of one of the worst situations in the world today.
With the world's largest single-day spike of confirmed cases at 450,000, they are desperately looking for medical support and care that is crucial in fighting through the disease, while the healthcare system is overburdened by the sheer magnitude of the pandemic.
The Flume ensemble at Riverdale Country School, we want to hold the concert that can play a small part in spreading the word to gather support for India. And today, we urge you to remember our communities and relations to one another, and offer support to our friends and family in India.
You can help save India. Every donation counts, no matter how big or small.
Who is Give India?
All funds you donate will go to GiveIndia directly. GiveIndia is a non profit organisation in India that is an online donation platform and aims to channel and provide resources to credible non-governmental organizations across India. It helps raise funds and contributions from individuals across India and the world and then disburses these donations to credible Indian NGOs. It channels funds provided by donors to certified non-profit organizations across India.
Who are we?
We are Flume, a music ensemble at Riverdale Country School in the Bronx, New York. We strive towards making music accessible to our communities, as we believe that music has the strength to bring people together and build solidarity to help one another. Since the beginning of the pandemic last year, we have been holding a number of virtual concerts to help many non-profit organizations in our community, and creating virtual spaces of solidarity. Upon hearing the worsening situation in India, we wished to do our part in supporting the pandemic relief efforts there through a virtual concert on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 7 pm. As we sought to provide timely support for the developing situation, we are still in the process of setting up the program. We would greatly appreciate your help in recording a few words to encourage our donors.
