The museum has traditional Blacksmithing, local History and an Innovation area which includes 3D Printers, Scanners and Virtual Reality. We have used the Innovation Area to educate and demonstrate these emerging technologies. We have undertaken projects for our community
1) A young man with a deformed hand but is desperate to ride a bike. We made a hand for him.
2) The local Hospice wants to build an extension. We were able to transfer the drawings into a 3D model which could be shown to potential investors.
We have also started training in 3D modelling. We hope our work will encourage more people to take up traditional crafts but also learn new skills. However our computer is no longer capable of driving the head sets. So we need a new computer. If we are successful we will organise pop events around South Holland to give young people exposure to Virtual Reality.
