Visit my dear brother

My name is Susie, and it's breaking my heart that it is now more than three years since I have been able to hug my big brother. COVID has been the cause of that, but now some family circumstances have changed, which means I can't afford to visit him interstate.
  
UPDATE: I'm blown away by the response to my GoFundMe project - I'm alternating between tears and shouts of joy - as is my brother.  He has asked if I can stay a few days longer, hence the increase in my total goal.  I hope this doesn't sound greedy but we were chatting on the phone last night and working out what we wanted to do in our few days together.  One important family outing was going to visit my parents rose bush, plaques, and ashes at Victor Harbor.  Then we talked about visiting the location of their first baby who only lived for 2 hours after birth.  Some people might find this a bit morbid but if you are a family historian you would understand how special these places are to family!  I'm not sure if a smiley fact works here but ... :-)  Thank you all.

 

Usually, I would try for a cheap airfare to get there, but my brother no longer has transport and relies on his motorised scooter. So I need to have my car there to take him out to places he can't get to. To drive interstate means petrol costs plus I can't make the trip in one day - I need to rest and stop overnight there and back.

 

I would also stay with my brother and his wife, so there are no accommodation costs. But, unfortunately, a change in family circumstances means seven people are now living in the house with one toilet! Anyone who is a little older with kidney issues would understand how difficult that could be.

 

As an aged pensioner, I need money for accommodation and petrol, which is totally outside my limits.

 

I hope this Go Fund Me page means that I can hug my nearest family member again - no other siblings and no parents. And I love my brother and miss him.
