Vitally Nikolaenko, or Vita, as most of us knew her, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016, during emergency surgery, while awaiting a heart transplant at a hospital in San Francisco. She was just 33.
She touched the lives of those who met her with her gentle kindness. Despite fighting maladies and life's adversities, Vita carried on with a smile, always coming through for anyone who needed a hand to hold on to, reaching out to her friends without them ever having to ask for help, being there to listen and to open her big heart.
Vita remained positive and optimistic for others and for herself. She was selfless, non-judgemental, and forgiving. She was grateful for the smallest of blessings. She kept her faith strong. And she kept smiling even when facing the darkest of times.
Vita leaves behind her mom and younger brother. She earned a living wage and due to her heart condition she was not eligible for life insurance. Her father passed on to be with God five years ago, and the family would be grateful to be able to place Vita to rest next to him. We ask you for your generosity to help with the funeral expenses and transportation costs to get her body to sacramento.
Vita may have needed a heart transplant but she had a beautiful, loving and caring heart. She will be missed by all those whose lives were made better by her kindness.
