Going Back To See Mom After Stroke

Donation protected
When my mom's BP medication stopped working like it had been, she had a stroke and collapsed. Being a tough Greek lady, when she came to, she got up and went back to life as usual. She didn't realize she had stroked.

Five days later, she was hospitalized with blood pressure of 246, high blood sugar and potential kidney damage. In the hospital, she caught pneumonia, lost the ability to walk on her own, (although she can walk with a walker) and was put on a machine to stop blood clots, and now she's anemic, they suspect internal bleeding and she's having problems breathing because she's in congestive heart failure.

The doctor said every day is touch-and-go. She's 89 and every time they think something's improving, something else goes downhill. The doctor told me today that I need to get out there as soon as I can and honestly, it kind of freaked me out.

My mom's most fervent wish is to see her daughter and granddaughter before she dies. Unfortunately, travel expenses for two of us will cost around $2100.

So, if you can donate anything, to help us get out to see her, it will be much appreciated.
