As friends and family members of Samantha Hyland, it is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we share that she and her family  experienced the sudden and devastating loss of her father, Sean Eugene Hyland. 

" On Saturday, October 23rd, my family and I said goodbye to Sean Eugene Hyland… the kindest, most generous, selfless, and singular man we’ve ever known. My dad’s unwavering integrity, true artistry and infectious goodness could be felt in every corner of his life as a husband, father, artist and figure in our church and community. His ministry — as a cantor leading mass in song, as a constant creator and usher of art, craft, music, food and communal experiences at home, and as a pillar of spiritual and moral counsel in my life and those who came into our house and found belonging, comfort, inspiration and warmth — lives on in the lives of all who were touched by his goodness. In these last few years living with the aggressive symptoms that accompany MSA, not once did he ever complain or waiver in his gratitude for the positives, even when he was no longer able to use his many talents to do all he loved. His bravery, positivity and commitment to living faithfully in the present moment are qualities I hope to embody. After a joyful celebration on his 64th birthday surrounded by people who loved him, he began his journey back to where we all come from. He passed peacefully a few days later, and while my family and l are heartbroken, we’re comforted by our overwhelming gratitude to have been blessed by his life. I love you Daddy."

Sean Eugene Hyland, born 10/20/1957 leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years, Wilma Hyland, and their children Samantha, Mark and Nilda Mae.

 

This fund has been enacted to help raise funds for a proper memorial and to cover any other additional and unforeseen expenses for the family. If you are able to support during this extremely difficult time, no amount is too small. All donations would be greatly appreciated by Sam's family and friends.
