Sussex Coastal Ultra-Marathon for Climate Change

Next March, Jedrzej Blaszyk and Eduardo Conesa-Pietscheck will be running the Sussex Coastal Marathon/Ultra-Marathon. Though we are not two that like to go around publicly broadcasting our personal endeavours; on this occasion, it is slightly different.
As the course of time progresses, so does the imminent threat of a climate catastrophe. Already, in what’s been of this year, multiple unprecedented events have happened that jeopardise our livelihood on Earth. New science suggests that the pace of warming is increasing quicker than previously expected. Following our current unsustainable trends, it is hard to imagine our planet being a habitable home for the next generation of humans – let alone the one that comes after or the one thereafter.
It is true change ought to start from within. And while we have been making our every attempt at living in a greener fashion, our individual efforts are of negligible impact in the grand scheme of things. Climate change mitigation must be a fundamental part of every person’s, business’ and government’s agenda. Therefore; it boils down to not only changing our very habits, but also pushing for new ways to tackle this issue – whether that be through research, policy or ‘green investment’.
Stemming from the above, we would like to take this opportunity as a means of reaching out to new personal heights and raising awareness for something we care about deeply – by running the Sussex Coastal Marathon/Ultra-Marathon for a charitable organisation that specialises on the environment. Our charity of choice is The Climate Change Organisation, for we feel strongly aligned with the work they carry out. Every bit of money we collect, be that tens or thousands of $/£/€, will go exclusively to this charity. Needless to say, this is not for personal enrichment or paying the entry fees of the race (as these have already been accounted for). All information about this donation will be made available upon finalising this fundraiser.
We urge you to please spare some money on this. Remember – you are doing this not for Jedrzej Blaszyk and Eduardo Conesa-Pietscheck, but ultimately for yourself and for our home.
