Help Rita Flee War; Give Her the Life She Deserves
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Noor; a mother to Rita, and a teacher who has been living in Gaza for her whole life. I am 30 and my biggest joy in life is Rita.
I like to define myself by her; I brought her to life and I would always like to be associated with her.
I chose her name carefully; I always brought her the best clothes and provided her with the best food and toys.
She is five and she started kindergarten back in September and that was the best month of her life.
In October, our lives changed. War started and we started fleeing for our lives. We got displaced so many times. Rita witnessed everything, looked death in its eyes and managed to escape.
In November, her dad got injured after a nearby bombing. She woke up to the sound of glass and my screams. Rita’s father is a doctor. She saw him bleeding and whispered to me saying, “ how is he bleeding? Doctors don’t bleed”
We are now staying in a city so unknown to us. We are so close to home, yet so far. No place is safe; not this city nor what used to be our home.
This is Rita now, staying in a tent in what used to be a wedding hall with another 80 people. She is still a kid and I want to give her the best life possible.
Gaza is a wreckage; no schools are left, no hospitals function; no restaurants, no playgrounds, and no life.
I haven’t started a fundraiser earlier because I had a hope this would end way sooner leaving us something to live with.
Now, life is no where close to what life is. Evacuation is no longer a luxury, it is a necessity.
Help Rita, and her family start somewhere new and to look for a fresh start. This money will go into relocating into a new place, building a life that dignifies us as humans.
It is not only about Rita. It’s also about her grandparents who are stuck in Gaza with nothing. They have nothing to live off with.
Rita’s parents, both of her grandparents and aunt will evacuate with her. To get out of Gaza, you need to pay around 5000$ per person, 2500$ for kids under 12.
The raised money will go into the following:
$11,000 for Rita and her mom. This amount of money is more than the others because more money means faster exit.
$30,000 for Permits and Crossing Fees: The bulk of the funds, $30,000, is crucial to cover the expenses associated with obtaining permits to leave Gaza and the crossing fees required at the Egypt-Gaza border in Rafah.
Living Costs in Cairo for six months: Minimum living costs: $8000
$1500 to cover GoFundMe's Transaction fees. The transaction fee (2.9%+$0.30 per donation).
