Emergency Food Relief for Families in Herat, Afghanistan

My name is Bahram Kariemie, originally from Afghanistan, now residing in Sittard, Holland. Although I live in the Netherlands, my heart and deep connections remain in my homeland, particularly in the city of Herat. I am setting up this GoFundMe page to raise money for food packages for impoverished people in Herat, Afghanistan. The current situation in Herat is extremely dire. Poverty has drastically increased, and food prices have soared to the point where many people can no longer afford even basic necessities. It is heartbreaking to see that some people are forced to eat inedible materials, like plastic rice, just to stave off hunger.

I am raising funds to support the people of Herat, where I have close family ties and longstanding connections within the community. My aunt, Masuada Karokhi, a respected Afghan peace activist, women’s rights advocate, and recipient of the N-Peace Award in 2013, will be the primary recipient of these funds. She is deeply committed to helping those in need in Herat and will ensure that the aid reaches the most vulnerable.

The funds raised will be sent directly to my aunt, who will oversee the purchase and distribution of food packages. Each package will contain essential food items such as rice, flour, cooking oil, and beans—enough to support a family of four for approximately one month. Additionally, these packages may include items like spaghetti, potatoes, and onions. These packages will be distributed in the poorest areas of Herat, prioritizing families who are struggling the most to survive.

These people desperately need our help. With your support, I aim to assemble and distribute these life-saving food packages to those who need them most. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference and save lives. Together, we can bring a glimmer of hope and a bit of relief to these people in their time of need.
