Voice for Koalas: Be a part of the Solution

We are raising funds to help save Gleniffer forest and Koalas.
The Koala is Australia's National Icon and also now an endangered species. Recently the Forestry Corporation moved to destroy vital Koala habitat in our area – Tuckers Nob State Forest (Gleniffer), in the heart of the proposed Great Koala National Park (GKNP). The community rallied against it, and we have been successful in suspending logging operations.
This is a major accomplishment, but it is only the beginning. We have effectively manged to ‘put our foot in the door’, and we must now walk through it lest that door slam shut in our face again.
The purpose of this fundraising is to obtain an independent report from a qualified ecologist on the unique and special wildlife values of compartments 26 and 27 Tuckers Nob. We have been advised by local lawyers (acting on a pro bono basis) that this report is essential to us being successful in permanently stopping logging in Tuckers Nob. We are extremely fortunate to have these qualified ‘neighbours of the forest’ acting for us in this matter.
Our success hinges on being able to prove to the government (and the Court if needed) that the forest does contain unique and special wildlife and that the planned harvesting will impact or is likely to impact that wildlife.
If by chance there are excess funds, they will be allocated to other local groups involved in similar activities.
Thank you for your help in this most important action in our local area and the environment at large.
