Void Waker: Dryad's Touch (A novel)

Just like the Wizard of Oz or Supernatural, my journey began in Kansas. I was born and raised in Topeka where my imagination and wanderlust grew alongside me. I remember writing stories about characters I had seen in books, in movies, and on TV. My stories also stem from my love of mythology, mostly Greek/Roman and Norse. My writing was greatly encouraged by my grandma who bought me many of the books that I wanted to read. I spoke to her frequently about my writing and I promised her that I would one day publish a book. 

After my grandma passed away in 2006, I left Kansas to travel. Shortly after, I met my husband through online gaming (yes, that really happened). He was the next person to fully encourage me in my writing venture. And, while pregnant with my first born, I set to writing the beginning of this series. 

Fast forward seven years, four children, and three books later and here I am attempting to put forward what I always said I would.


I want my readers to get the best possible work that I can provide. This fundraiser is to help cover all the costs that will help polish this book.

The Void Waker series is set in a world where gods walk alongside the mortals who worship them. While most of the elder gods ascended to the Celestial Realm long ago to gather strength for a war prophesied by the elves, the youngest sibling stayed behind. Thaos, god of shadows and demons, works tirelessly with the aid of his demon children to tear apart everything his siblings created. He plans to one day wield the sword named Void Waker that is able to rip apart the essence of a god.

The story is shown from the perspective of several characters. Elves, humans, and even gods. Their stories, seemingly unrelated to one another, are meant to eventually meet. It's a story meant to show different paths to redemption and destruction, and that not everything is as it appears.

Born with the help of the dryads, Nara was abandoned by her mother at the Temple of Kothes. The Elders of the temple named her Nara of the Dryads after witnessing her uncanny ability to interact with the elusive watchers. However, the supposedly orphaned Nara is separated from them when Castien Dreigsier visits from the neighboring island. He offers her a life with her father, King Alinar, and a path to adventure. 

Followed closely by her long time friend Fallon, neither expects the danger and true purpose waiting for them. With demon and mortal alike seeking Nara's blood, and many others wanting to use her for their political and worldly gains, she does her best to remain strong. 

However, while the gods prepare to war with one another, the dryads whisper dark visions of the future through Nara's dreams, hoping to prepare her for unavoidable pain.
