Who We Are

We are a group of five undergrad students from the University of Tennessee raising money for The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley (HSTV). Our goal is to raise $1200 to add a significant amount of money to the emergency medical fund. This fund is used by HSTV to operate emergency surgeries on the animals under their care. This fund will go to keeping animals in good health and nurturing better lives for them. We are all animal lovers and hope these donations are able to help these animals in need.

The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the goal to rehabilitate and aid homeless, injured or incapable animals. HSTV was founded in 1885 and has been a temporary home for over 22,000 animals since its opening. Marked as a no-kill shelter in 2001, this organization is at the forefront of animal welfare.

What We Need

Our goal for this fundraiser is to raise money that will be used as an emergency medical fund for HSTV. The emergency medical fund is a set amount of money that animal shelters often have that will be used to operate in emergency situations. This fund will go to saving animals and making sure they stay in good health and will be carried out through emergency surgeries and the prescription of medicine.

Our team has set our goal to $1200 which will go specifically into the emergency medical fund in order to save and rehabilitate these animals. Donations to our cause can single-handedly help save an animal's life. These donations will be added to a set-aside pool of money that is used only for these emergency services, and will only be withdrawn when an emergency surgery needs to be conducted. The opportunity to have your donation go towards saving an animal's life is an incredible feeling and opportunity.

How It Helps

By rescuing and caring for stray animals the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley is preparing these lovable animals for adoption into new homes. The HSTV’s emergency medical fund benefits animals and our local community alike. By providing adequate care for these animals the emergency medical funds help stop the spreading of harmful diseases and potentially dangerous injuries to these animals.

By providing care to these animals, the HSTV opens up the doors to adoption, which allows pet lovers and volunteers in the community to adopt a new best friend. In just the past year, the HSTV has provided over 2000 adoptions, which is over 2000 new friends in the local Knoxville community.
