Volunteer Firefighter Injured at Fire

Firefighter Scott Monington, a 14 year volunteer member of the Cooperstown Fire Department was injured on February 26, 2020 while fighting a garage fire. An explosion at the scene injured a group of 5 firefighters, two seriously.
Scott was treated at the scene and transported to Bassett in Cooperstown, then transferred to the Burn Unit at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
Scott has an extended recovery ahead of him, will be out of work as a corrections officer at the Otsego County Correctional Facility for some time. Any assistance you can offer to help his family with unplanned expenses is greatly appreciated.
