Volunteer firefighters of Athens, Pendeli.

Hi, my name is Christos. I have been volunteering with the Civil Protection of the municipality of Pendeli, in the north of Athens, since July 2022. We patrol one of the last lungs of Athens thru watch towers, walking and car patrols.

We are dedicated to helping put out fires, and to ensure everyonr sleeps safely BUT we are severely lacking in protective gear and our vehicles are in need of repair.

Despite political promises of funding, we have received very little assistance. This is a serious problem, as we are putting our lives at risk every time we respond to a call.

We need about €5-10,000 for masks, fire-proof suits, firefighter boots, gloves, etc., and about €60,000 for a new fire truck.

Every euro is important to us, as it will help us to better protect ourselves and the people we serve.
