Volunteer In South Korea 2023

Hi, my name is Jacob, and I am 17 years old. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to South Korea in Summer 2023 to volunteer at the World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) 2023.

I have been a Scout since the age of 7, and it has taught me so many invaluable life skills that have helped me in my everyday life. From camping outdoors to first aid, the opportunities I have had in scouting have been priceless.

In late 2021, I applied to be an International Service Team (IST) member in South Korea. The World Scout Jamboree takes place every four years, and hearing other scouts' experiences at previous jamborees inspired me to apply. I was lucky to be chosen by the UK Contingent to join them.

I intend to join the international "Faith Tent", where I will work with interfaith leaders and educate others about my Jewish experiences in the UK. I will be working alongside Jews from around the world as well as members of other religions. I can't wait for the opportunity to educate and be educated myself.

Sadly, there is a significant cost to get there, including flights, accommodation and a further opportunity for me to travel around South Korea after the event. If you are able to donate, I would really appreciate it. No donations are too small!
