United Planet Dog Rescue Volunteer Service in Peru

I am excited to share that this summer, at the end of June, I will be volunteering through United Planet at a dog rescue shelter in Cusco, Peru for two weeks. In this position, I will be working at a local dog rescue shelter that cares for and provides adoption services for homeless animals. The shelter also frequently organizes campaigns and activities to raise awareness for the large problem of abandoned dogs in Cusco.

As you may know, I have been volunteering at the city animal shelter in Albuquerque, NM for the past two years, and it has become a great passion of mine. Through my experiences, I've been able to see the animals’ resilience and loyalty, despite challenging circumstances, reinforcing my commitment to promoting adoption from shelters and celebrating the joy that comes from giving these deserving animals a loving home. I am committed to advocating for homeless animals, and exploring solutions to the widespread issue of animal overpopulation in shelters, and giving them a chance at a better life.
