Further information about project Zulu :
Since 2012 Project Zulu has been offering the opportunity for UWE Bristol trainee teachers to visit and teach in partner primary schools across the township and rural communities of Madadeni and Dundee. The UWE Bristol trainees volunteer in the schools for 4 weeks during their summer break, sharing and developing their teaching skills alongside the South African teachers. Adapting to the large class sizes of up to 60+ pupils and often working with limited educational resources is a big part of this experience. This project provides opportunities for the UK visitors and South African schools to observe each other’s teaching, share and introduce new teaching resources as well as learn from their approaches.
