Pawprints to Freedom Volunteer Tough Mudder Fundraiser

Pawprints to Freedom dog rescue are really struggling for funds at the moment.

This rescue is very dear to so many and of course very much needed for the dogs.

For that reason, a group of Pawprints to Freedom volunteers have decided to take on TOUGH MUDDER to try raising money for the dogs.

Tough Mudder is a 10 mile obstacle course that consists of ice baths, army climbs and just general pain and suffering.

The team who have agreed to the challenge are:

Rebecca - founder and trustee, who struggles with the 15 min school run each day and has never set foot in a gym before.

Dan - Rebecca’s long suffering partner, who has vowed to 100% leave her behind as it’s her own fault she hasn’t trained.
He has some muscles (along with a dad bod) so may fair well in some obstacles.

Charlotte Barnes - trustee, who does actually go to the gym so a lot of hope is resting on her shoulders.

Kirsty Drain - trustee and netball player, hopeful her throwing skills may get some of the team over some obstacles.. although a person and a ball are different sizes.

Claire Hazard - foster manager. Well... Claire thought she had signed up to 5k and was worried about that.
We had to inform her it was actually 10 miles.
She’s asked if there’s a bar part way round.

Carla - leads our public shelter team. Trains every weekend so we think she may be okay. However, training may be a word used loosely here.
She’s not feeling confident.

Victoria & Fern - Victoria is on our fundraiser and Fern is her husband. The power couple, the most likely ones to breeze through this, and whom we have placed the majority of our eggs with in the hopes we succeed.

Claire Carpenter - an avid supporter and friend. Pops weekly updates on her park runs and marathons into the otherwise very quiet team training chat. Seems far too excited for this and we think she will get round no problem.

George - Dan's friend, who has often found himself manning stalls at fundraising events. Sadly, George had a heart attack in his 30s, fortunately now fully recovered, but unsure if he will make it past the first obstacle.

Chris - Dan's other friend, is a last minute replacement. Possibly the tallest of the bunch, a gentle and much loved giant, but unfortunately (in Dan's words) is pretty rubbish at everything.

Jane - Claire’s dear friend, who has been roped in as apparently is quite fit and we need all the help we can get. Welcome to the team Jane and sorry at the same time.

Molly - Another of Claire’s friends who has just had a baby in May! Congratulations!! We are in absolute awe that Molly is taking on this challenge so soon.

As you can see, we are a total mixed bunch. It’s not going to be our fitness levels (for most) that get us round, but instead it will be our sheer determination for the dogs we love so much.

We hope we survive!

Please donate as much as you can! Your support will make it much easier to face and make an incredible difference to our dogs.
