Vonda's Medical Fund
Donation protected
On June 1, 2016, our friend Vonda Turner was in a terrible automobile accident. She suffered extensive and multiple injuries including a punctured lung, a broken back in three places and her brain was bleeding. Thanks to some great Doctors at McLeod Medical Center in Florence, she survived the accident and is recovering.
Vonda has had two back surgeries. Once in Florence then again in Atlanta. She has thankfully regained the use of her hands, but remains paralyzed from the waist down. We are all hopeful that she will walk again. First her back has to heal enough for her to get back to Atlanta and The Shepard Center for some intensive physical therapy. She has a long way to go, but she is fighting like a warrior!
Vonda joined the Rotary Club of Sumter-Palmetto in 1998 and has been a active Rotarian for 18 years. She is a Past-President of our Club, a Paul Harris Fellow and a Sustaining member. Vonda has had 13 years' perfect attendance in our Rotary Club until her accident.
At at the District level, Vonda has served in several capacities including Assistant Governor, District Membership Chair and has served on the District Grants Committee. Vonda is a valued member of the Rotary Club of Sumter-Palmetto and District 7770.
Vonda needs our help now, both our prayers and contributions. Her insurance has done a lot, but her future physical therapy might be limited and expensive.
We are asking you to consider helping Vonda with her recovery. Her future is bright that she will one day walk again with therapy and support. We hope you will consider making a donation to this GoFundMe account to help our friend and faithful Rotarian Vonda continue in her recovery needs.
