Vonetta Young (Daughter's Medical Expenses)

Hi, my name is Wendy Higgins and I'm raising money for my dear friend Vonetta Young. Vonetta is a single mom of seventeen-year-old Alyna. Alyna's father has passed, and Vonetta is working full time to support them. In the past few years Alyna has faced medical issues including her stomach, seizures, and now her heart. A genetic test found that Alyna has a rare disease called hATTR amyloidosis, a build-up of misfolded proteins that affects the nerves, stomach, and heart.

Vonetta has missed a lot of work to take Alyna to medical appointments, and will have to miss more in the coming days as they decide how to move forward with treatments and her heart condition.

I can't imagine the stress and fear Vonetta is facing, not only with her child's health, but also with finances. If we can take the financial burden off her plate for a bit, and let Vonetta focus solely on Alyna, it would be a blessing.
