The Voorn Family - support for a great family
Donation protected
On February 12, 2024, the Voorn family experienced something that no family should have to experience. A fire started in the kitchen of the house, with only 2 teenagers home. Mathew (18) and Noah (14) were able to extinguish the fire and prevent further major damage to the home, but sustained serious injuries in the process. Mathew will require surgery to repair the damage to his hand and Noah sustained burns to 16% of his body and will be forced to endure multiple surgeries and has a long recovery ahead. Upon arrival at the hospital, Noah was intubated in an effort to determine the extent of his exposure to the smoke and to aid in pain management.
Corry and Stacey both work full-time, and have been forced to take time off work to tend to the medical needs of their children (Noah remains in hospital at this time). Anyone that knows this family, knows that they would literally give you the shirt off of their backs in times of need. They are truly selfless and have always done so much for their friends and family, even when they had very little for themselves. They have lost their kitchen and are unable to sleep in their home until the damage is repaired. This is a family of 5 with pets that are loved (and are thankfully safe) and these additional unexpected expenses and time off of work will have a major impact.
We are asking that you donate what you can to support this amazing family and give them some relief while they navigate this challenging time.
