Hi, my name is Dylan Sarsany. I am an undergrad student at Grainger Engineering, and I am humbly asking you to vote ME for Student Trustee. To tell you a bit about myself I grew up in Park Ridge, a suburban town of Chicago, where I later served in an elected capacity on a commission. This year I have served on the Senate Committee for Educational Policy and have learned a lot about the proceedings surrounding our campus. Now I am ready to represent your interests in the policy at UIUC, and guarantee that your voice is heard and most importantly responded to. I have devoted my life to public service for several years and firmly believe in our right to engage in civil government. As a candidate for student trustee, I am committed to representing and advocating for the interests of all students. I have always believed that students deserve to have a direct impact on the decisions regarding education, campus life, and it’s very future. My primary focuses will be advocating for affordable education, increasing student access to mental health and academic resources, and strengthen the student experience of the programs we have here on campus and off campus. I am running for student trustee because I believe that students deserve a more direct and substantial role in shaping the future of our university. The role of Student Trustee is not just a symbolic position; it is a critical responsibility which demands an individual who is passionate, strong, and well spoken on all student need, interested, and concerns. As a humble student here at UIUC I know well the challenges that face our student body.
