Why this call out to gofund me.

Well, Animal Cruelty is at an all-time high in City and County Limerick.

#EnoughIsEnough! I believe that funding to all bloodsport facilities should be stopped immediately. And in my humble view Limerick Horse Racecourse & Limerick Greyhound Stadium & Hare Coursing tracks (Abbeyfeale) should be converted to building much needed housing. Housing is far more important than facilitating state-sponsored evil bloodsports. If you bet, they die! #BanBloodSports I believe Fox Hunting must stop immediately.

I believe that Hare Coursing must stop immediately.

I believe that Sulky Racing must stop immediately.

Gerben is a mature student of Horticulture (2nd year) at the Organic College – An tIonad Glas in Dromcolliher, Limerick. And worked in IT and Nursing before that. He was also active in the Transition Town Movement, An Taisce - Tidy Towns, Friends of the Earth, and also volunteers for the Killeedy Eco Park.

I called for a more plant-based lifestyle to be prioritized. Post-pandemic everyone got more health and diet conscience. And silver lining is the amount vegetarians & vegans, grey more than doubled in Ireland.

Gerben is also a former Cllr for Amsterdam-De Pijp, in the Netherlands, in the 1990ties, of the Dutch Green Party ‘Groen Amsterdam/De Groenen’. When he was still with the Irish Greens up to a decade ago, Gerben drafted their National Health Policy, as convenor. He also ran for the Greens in Ennis, co Clare, in 2014.

Please support my general election campaign. If the target of € 1,500 is reached, the remainder will be donated equally to Limerick’s Animal Rescue organizations, such as Limerick Animal Welfare, Deel Animal Rescue, Star Animal Rescue, Bat Rehabilitation Ireland – Rescue, Feral Cats Limerick.

€ 5 will pay for 10 environment-friendly stickers.

€10-€25 will help me pay for an ad on social media

€50 will help me pay for five election posters.

€ 100 will pay for 2000 leaflets.

€ 100 to € 250 will pay for a small ad in Limerick's newspapers, for example, the Limerick Post, Limerick Leader

€ 250 will pay for a radio ad, and TV ads are even dearer.
