Stacy's Insulin Pump
Donation protected
As most of you know, I was diagnosed Type 1 Diabetic back in May of 2007. Since that time, I have been in two life threatening comas. Because of this, my doctor put me on an insulin pump back in 2011. This was incredibly life changing. Since then, I have had stable blood sugars, no episodes, and I really feel like I can live the life I want.
Back in March, I noticed my pump had a crack and needed to be replaced. Well, my warranty was up in January so a new pump won't be covered. After insurance covers their portion for the new pump, my out of pocket will be $5000.
My only option is to go back to insulin therapy and back to 5 shots a day, as I cannot afford the out of pocket cost. This really frightens me, with everything I had gone through before the pump.
I am not one to ask for help, I like to be independent and take care of myself, so this is a huge step for me. Please help if you can!
