Help Berit Battle Leukemia
Donation protected
A few weeks ago Berit turned 2 years old.
A few weeks ago Berit was also diagnosed with very high risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (the most severe classification of A.L.L. with the highest chance of relapse).
My brother and sister-in-law, Aaron and Mackenzie, were gearing up to move their lives from Florida to California for a new job when they found out that their daughter, Berit, had leukemia. She underwent a 28-day induction month with steroids, chemotherapy, and a three-week hospital stay. Meanwhile, Aaron had to trek onto California while Mackenzie stayed with Berit and Alta (their 4-year-old daughter) to finish the treatments in Florida.
Fortunately, their family has just been reunited in California but Berit has immediately continued treatments upon her arrival in the new state. Her whole life will look different for the next 2.5 years, if not longer. So will Alta's. So will Aaron and Mackenzie's.
There already have been and will continue to be many ongoing expenses over the next several years... hospital visits (several that now have to be multi-day with the new very high-risk status), co-pays, insurance premiums, medications, travel expenses for specialty consultations... the list goes on.
So- I'm asking for our friends and family to rally together and help a family whom I know have blessed so, so many. A family that is steadfast in their faith and trust in the Lord, despite the unthinkable happening to their child. A family that is pressing on with kindness and graciousness, taking each moment of the news in stride, one step at a time.
And, if you can't give (well, even if you can), we would ask that you pray. Pray for miraculous healing. Pray that God would be glorified. Pray that little Berit, in the midst of not knowing why she's being poked and prodded and going into this sterile environment all the time... pray that the Lord would give her a peace that surpasses all understanding.
