Morocco World Challenge 2024

Hi, my name is Billy and next year, alongside starting my A-Levels, I am embarking on a World Challenge expedition to Morocco. I have fortunately been given this opportunity through my school, and I am excited to spend 17 days trekking the Atlas mountains, working on a community project within a local village and experiencing Moroccan culture whilst in Marrakech. World Challenge is an organization which offers young people a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with people from different backgrounds whilst developing important qualities for later life such as confidence, teamwork, project management and initiative. I believe these qualities will be developed through the independence our group will be provided, as we must utilize these skills to book our own accommodation on multiple occasions, alongside arranging travel and managing budgets for food.

World Challenge requires all participants to fundraise, whilst I will, and have been, contributing towards the final target through money I have earned from working, I believe that any donations would assist me in obtaining the final target. In return for your donation, I will be completing a challenge that will aid me physically in preparation for my 5-day trek in the unforgiving Atlas Mountains. My challenge will involve a total of 1,161km of running and cycling over the course of a year, this is half the distance of the city of Marrakesh(where my journey will commence) to the Atlas Mountain Range, a distance that we will cover on our expedition. I am aware that this challenge will be physically and mentally demanding, but I'm determined to achieve it. My challenge will commence on the 23rd of July 2023, exactly 1 year before we depart for the expedition. Over the course of that year, I will attempt to run and cycle this daunting distance. As of today, I have completed 682km of the total distance, and am well on my way to smashing the final goal. Thank you very much, any donations would be greatly appreciated
