My name is Hilary Eustace. I am wanting to raise funds for my Sadie girl.

Sadie Update: Saturday, January 13th, 2024

Sadie suffered a lot of brain damage due to chemotherapy neurotoxicity. Her care team thinks it’s the Neurotoxicity of fludarabine.

The development of neurologic toxicity is characterized by delayed onset (21-60 days after the last treatment) and a progressive degenerative clinical course. The clinical symptoms consist of altered mental status, seizures, paraparesis, progressive encephalopathy, and coma. Sadie’s last dose of fludarabine was 11/23/23, which is 51 days ago today.

Sadie will never walk, talk, or eat on her own again. She might be able to get off the vent eventually; the damaged area affected her vision, so she is likely blind. It didn’t affect her lungs, but her lungs are still very sick.

The care conference was on Friday, 1/12/24, at 2:30 p.m. That was when we finally got some answers.

We also discussed transferring Sadie back to MU. That will make things so much easier, and we have so many other resources. MU said she needs to require less care, and staffing needs to be better. A lot of BJC/ Wash U providers are helping staff at MU.

All funds raised will go directly to the family for traveling expenses, along with helping with financial expenses.

We support this local business of Eagle Nutrition, which is the source of income for the family. But with that being said we all know and understand sometimes that just doesn’t cut it. I want to be able to give the family an extra cushion to be able to rest easy in a way while their mind is focused on Sadie’s health along with the families as this can be mentally and physically exhausting.
