Susan’s Story
Donation protected
Susan is a young mother of 6 beautiful children aged between 8 years old and 5 weeks old and is the adoring wife to the love of her life Ken.
Susan and her families world was firstly rocked in January 2020 when she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, whilst 5 months pregnant! Susan fought through this with an intensive treatment plan, day in and day out fighting against the side effects of the treatment whilst continuing to raise her young family and trying to keep life as normal as possible for them and also growing a little life not knowing what the side effects maybe to him.
To top it all off this was in the peak of Covid and lockdowns. Doing the majority of treatment on her own due to hospital restrictions and although a lot of support from family, friends and the school community, help was still limited due to restrictions.
Susan’s strength and determination paid off and she was given the all clear in January 2021 and was in remission.
One thing that this experience had shown her and Ken was life was to short and they fell pregnant with the final piece to their family, gorgeous little Cooper who is now 5 weeks old.
As Susan progressed through Cooper’s pregnancy she experienced some pain in her ribs and developed a persistent cough, Susan’s doctors were unable to perform test whilst she was pregnant and test were undertaken as soon as possible after Cooper’s birth.
Heartbreakingly Susan has been given the devastating news that her cancer has metastasised and has now progressed to Stage 4 and is in her lungs, ribs and bones and it is now terminal with a predicted life expectancy of a maximum of 2 years with treatment. Susan again is undertaking an intensive treatment plan so that she can spend as much time with her young family and create as many happy memories as possible.
Susan and her family’s life has been thrown into chaos and are facing many hurdles ahead. The financial impact of medical costs, increase in the cost of living, both her and Ken unable to work as much if at all during her treatment and with no financial support creating more stress.
We are asking everyone to come together and help donate in anyway they can to help remove some financial stress and help this young family make memories with their mum and enjoy every minute of their time together.
