Olivia's Journey to Healing

Hello all! This fundraising page is being started at the request of a very generous friend, Garrett Gunter. Each year he works to raise funds for a children's charity. This year he has decided to specifically raise funds for our beautiful granddaughter Olivia. Many have followed her journey but, if you haven't, here is a brief overview:

Olivia was born 8 years ago and, at 9 days old, she was diagnosed with hydrocephalus. She was life-flighted to Seattle and underwent her first surgery a day later. Since then, she has endured 19 more surgeries, countless days in the hospital and all of the stress that comes with having an ongoing medical condition. Because of all of the brain surgeries she has had, she has also developed epilepsy and weakness on her left side (mild cerebral palsy) which are both being treated through ongoing therapies. Many people have helped Olivia and her parents over the years and we are forever grateful for the support of our family, friends and community that has surrounded them with so much love.

When Garrett decided he wanted to raise funds for Olivia we knew it needed to be different. Garrett's mantra "It's for the Kids" has become, "It's for the Kid" and so we want any funds raised through his efforts to go directly to Olivia for her ongoing care and therapies. She continues to need physical therapy and other activities that will help to make her stronger physically and tutoring to help her catch up with all of the school she has missed.
