The Sunflower Project

I’m so happy and honoured to announce that I am officially reopening donations for The Sunflower Project 2024!

Every year The Sunflower Project fundraises to make care packages for young people in eating disorder treatment over the holiday season. This will be my 3rd year of running this fundraiser - which has allowed me to meet so many incredible people, and give back to a community that supported me through one of the most difficult times of my life.

I battled with anorexia for 5 years, before receiving treatment in 2020, including 5 months of inpatient treatment. While this was an incredible privilege to have access to, and my gratitude for the nurses and care staff goes beyond words- one cannot discount the loneliness, and true pain that comes with treatment, especially during the holidays.

The goal of The Sunflower Project is to create an active community that cares for and supports these young people during such a difficult time, to create a sense of support during and beyond treatment.

I am truly proud of the community that The Sunflower Project has created, for those in active treatment, recovery, and in the creation of conversations surrounding the impact of disordered eating.

All donations are used to fund the manufacturing & postage of the care packages, and any excess proceeds are donated directly to the bodywhys organisation. I’m so happy to share that in 2023, we were able to donate over €1000 to bodywhys, after the care packages were delivered, thanks to the generosity of your donations
