The Crowells are a tough Clan. When the going gets tough they get going!
When Melanie started to suffer debilitating headaches she did not give up. When her doctors could not tell her what was wrong she did not give up. When she began to lose her eyesight she did not surrender. She advocated for herself until she finally got a diagnosis. Intracranial Hypertension could not keep her down! Melanie does not look sick. Melanie does not ACT sick! Even though her illness blinded her, Mel continues to crochet hats and scarves and blankets to donate to those in need. When Melanie was diagnosed with kidney cancer, she did not quit! She kicked Cancer's ass!
Going from a two-income family to a one-income family was difficult. They never complained and Brendan never went without!
Tristan, a former marine is an amazing father husband and provider, even though he has some health issues himself. He always puts his family's needs above his own.
Brendan has always been a good student, good son, and good friend! He also has his own health issues and restrictive diet to deal with that make day to day living and being a kid difficult.
Then Brendan fell.
The Crowells are still tough. But when Brendan fell and hit his back, he suffered nerve damage that crept in and made it impossible for him to walk. He is now at Children's Hospital in Boston and Melanie is by his side. Tristan has to be at work and has to take care of the house and pets but still makes the drive into Boston after to be there when he can. Melanie can't drive and must rely on friends and family, and when that fails, she must uber. When Brendan leaves Children's he will need to go to a rehab hospital for 8 weeks of daily outpatient therapy. Melanie and Brendan will need to stay at a hotel close to the rehab facility because commuting is impossible.
The tough need help. I am asking everyone to help out these warriors. The Crowels have given so much, now it is out turn to give back!
