VT is in a State of Emergency after historic flooding on and after July 10. Many small businesses are without flood insurance because they are nowhere near flood insurance. Many of the high dollar relief programs are loan based. which require re-payment even at low interest rates. Multiple towns are devastated.
Kellie D'Elia-Laskin is a one woman small business. She is our friend. She is our champion, no matter the need. A mother raising an amazing 16yo young man. An entrepeneur who makes things happen. A supporter of women's physical, mental, and heart spaces. Like many her start-up costs were "everything". She was days away from opening her alternate healing business in Londonderry, VT when "everything" floated away.
When your borrowing power was leveraged for a Grand Opening that didn't happen, low interest funding does not work (how do you qualify? re-pay?) When you don't operate in a flood zone, there is no flood insurance. When you are one small business in a literal sea of impacted businesses all within one itty bitty state ...
You have to get creative to rebuild.
And she will.
Because she is tough.
Because she has grit.
Because she is loved by many.
But she needs help.
She needs an army.
And she needs cash to rebuild.
And here we are.
Please donate any amount that you can.
Please share if you are not able.
Donations will go to tangible items like building materials and new shelves. Any funds she cannot use will be used to assist ithers in her community of Londonderry, VT.
We are Vermont strong.
We appreciate your help.
With respect, gratitude and love
