Support Matt’s Long Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On March 27, 2025, my husband, Matt, was involved in a terrible crash while skiing and suffered major trauma. On his right side, he broke his ankle (fibula), shoulder (humerus), and four ribs. He also broke his left knee (patella) and his C1 vertebrae. He is having surgery on his ankle and knee today and may have surgery on his shoulder in a few days. He will have to wear a neck collar for several months and will be in a cast or brace for his knee, a cast or boot for his ankle, and a large sling for his right arm for months also. He is 83 and has a long, difficult recovery ahead.
I am asking for help because we are retired and on a fixed income. He is covered by Medicare, but he will need more rehab and care than it will cover. Also, when he comes home from the hospital and rehab, he will not be able to negotiate the stairs in our house very well (if at all) for months. The shower in the only bathroom he will be able to access has never been installed. I would love to be able to have a shower put in for him.
If you could find it in your heart to help us, I would be so grateful.
