Hello. We are Kyle and Allyson Gardner and we are so excited to share with everyone that we are adopting! :)
We met in 2012 and we knew right away that we had met "THE" one. On date #2, we talked about the future and our desire to have children. We started trying right after the wedding. After six months of trying with no success, we visited a fertility doctor. Unfortunately, there were no clear answers as to why we were not getting pregnant. All tests turned out fine. We started with Allyson taking low doses of fertility drugs. After three months of no success, the doctor decided to increase the fertility drugs , adding shots, and doing an IUI procedure. We were thrilled to find out we were pregnant! Each week, Allyson would do blood work and ultrasounds to check on the development of the baby. After seeing the heartbeat on week six, we miscarried at 7.5 weeks. We were devastated!
Our doctor encouraged us to try again, so we did. Using the same drugs, shots, and IUI process, we were able to get pregnant again. Each week, we began to relax a little more. Unfortunately, we miscarried at 9.5 weeks. Totally heartbroken, we felt everything was against us. After many tests, we found that Allyson has a blood clotting disorder that does not allow blood to get to the baby when pregnant. We decided to try one more time, knowing that Allyson would have to take heparin shots for 36 weeks of the pregnancy. Unfortunately, the IUI was unsuccessful the third time.
The devasation of having two angels in heaven, the emotional rollarcoater of being pregnant, than not pregnant, fertility shots, etc., had taken a toll on both of us. We decided it was time to look at other options.
We both know in our hearts that we are meant to be parents! We both love children and we know that we want to be able to love, nurture, and give a child a loving and stable home. We had talked about adoption before and we decided we were ready to move forward. We found a great agency and all our paperwork and homestudy is complete! We are just now waiting on Baby Gardner!
The average cost of adoption is $30,000. We have been abe to get a loan, however, we will be paying that back for a long time. We are also still paying on the fertility bills from last year. Many people encouraged us to do a GoFundMe. We were both very hesitant, as first. It is hard to ask for help, if you normally don't. However, here we are. If it is in your heart and God is telling you to donate, thank you! If you aren't finacially able or God isn't leading you to donate, we totally understand. We just would ask that you pray for us as we begin this new and exciting journey.
Our Adoption Puzzle- Anyone who donates to our GoFundMe will get a puzzle piece with their name on it. The puzzle will then hang in Baby Gardner's nursey. When Baby Gardner is old enough to understand adoption and the process we have gone through, we will explain the puzzle and show Baby Gardner how many people helped us bring him/her home.
Ephesians 1:5-6 says, "In love God predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the beloved."
